The asylum was empty, the floors were dingy, the walls were full of discoloration. This was life that Sister Meredith knew. She was a middle aged nun who gave her life to helping others. What she didn’t know was that the people there couldn’t be helped, it was sad actually. The inmates loved Sister Meredith, and even though she loved them too, she knew how to keep her distance, and keep out of dangers way. One night during her nightly check of the halls she noticed a dim glow coming from one of the rooms at the very end of the downstairs North Hall. She steadied her pace and walked towards it thinking about what it could be. Having no preparation for what was ahead she kind of backed down, but her curiosity got the best of her.

She noticed the light was almost neon, it was so fluorescent, and red. Could it have been an exit sign that she’s never noticed?  No, she  knew this place like the back of her hand. When she arrived at the entrance of the cell, she noticed a figure in the lightly illuminated room. She tried to open the cell to see if she could get a better look at what it was. She grabbed a tight grip on the cell bars to open it, she touched something sticky, and slimy. She tried to remove her hands, but they were stuck. “What is going on here?!” she wailed, “is this glue??!” She thought she was hallucinating, a devious laughter arose from the darkness, “Look what we have here”, said the voice. Within a glance of an eye the inmate… or so she thought, opened the gate, grabbing her and taking her inside the cell. Being dragged against her will she saw another person in there with them, it all clicked, and she soon realized that the other person WAS the inmate. The lifeless body lie on the ground with blood flowing out from the mouth. She screamed for help, but no one could save her now, it was too late. The last moment of Sister Meredith’s life was when she was staring into the face of death, the monster lifted her up and put her in front of the light. “Now you’re trapped in the crazy house”, with one last bloody scream, Sister Meredith had been swallowed whole. Someone else walked down the hallway, and soon they began to wonder… “What’s that red light?”
